Logostarter: Research into Award Winning Innovative Children's Design

I wanted to look into other innovative designs which have won awards. I felt like this would give me an idea of what kind of design they use and how I could incorporate it into the KonneKt design.

EyePlay is a virtual indoor playground that allows multiple players to interact with colorful graphics and sounds projected onto floors or walls. EyePlay deserves a KAPi Award due to the wide variety of fun, active and educational games available. EyePlay ensures children never get bored and it appeals to today’s high-tech consumer. Each system is equipped with proprietary MotionAware Technology, which “comes to life” and reacts when player movement is detected. By interacting with the projected images, people activate animations, trigger sounds, play games or interact with content applications in an exciting and memorable way.

I think this is a great concept however the logo is shocking. I can understand wanting to use bright colours but this isn't working well. Also they haven't got a separate logo to accompany the full name.

Night Zookeeper is based on a magical story about the adventures of a Night Zookeeper and the fantastical animals he meets on his nightly rounds.

Our website encourages children to invent their very own magical animals and use illustrations and stories to bring them to life. We firmly believe that a child’s imagination deserves freedom. Therefore our aim is to engage children across the world and show them that they can be more than just the consumers of digital media... they can be the creators as well.

I really love this logo, I think it is so cleaver how the elephant forms the darkness of the night whilst the negative space created by the giraffe and other animals defines the elephant.

"We understand that whilst parents buy products, children make friends with them, so everything we create has the functionality that grown-ups value, and the personality that kids adore. We have a team of talented imagineers that are dedicated to making travelling with tots a doddle. They use ingenious design (and a little bit of fairy dust) to create products for every journey, whether it's a day trip to the zoo, or a round the world trip."

I love the design of suitcases and rucksacks, I think it is so true what they say about children making friends and getting attached to the product. The products are well designed and the logo really matches, its font is friendly and approachable just like the products.
