Design Principles, Study Task 2: Type Modification

After experimenting with creating the letterforms digitally from rough sketches I decided it would make more sense and be easier if I planned them out on tracing paper first.

The first font was Bernard MT Condensed. The bulking ends were changed to more of a slab serif but with 90 degree angles. The cross bars were kept low and the x height remained high as these features make the font its own. Next I will import  them into illustrator and make them digital letters.

Bernard MT Condensed - modified italic

Bernard MT Condensed - modified bold
Bernard MT Condensed - modified light
