Augmented Design: Research into Interactive Print

I don't know how much augmented design I have researched would be applicable to my work so I have decided to also look into interactive design. Interactive Design is defined as a user-oriented field of study that focuses on meaningful communication of media through cyclical and collaborative processes between people and technology.

Interactive design has many advantages. For example the design tends to be more memorable because the user has had to do something. Even something as small as twisting a bit of paper or ripping it because they have preformed the action they remember doing it and relate the advert to that action. Also because it is quite niche if someone see's a good/funny/incredible design they do tend to tell people about it... and therefore mention what it is advertising.

Below are some designs that I like, I will try to use it as inspiration and think of a way to work it into my campaign.

A yoga instructors business card which you have to twist to read. A really clever idea which physically shows what her service is.

This is a wrapping paper which lets you circle different words depending on the occasion such as congratulations, happy birthday or merry christmas! I think this is such a clever idea and I'm really surprised it isn't seen in most shops!

This advert shows how good the sun is for you by using a piece of paper as an example. The dreary black and white drawing becomes filled with colour and life. I'm not sure how this would have been printed but would like to know. This is the type of advert you would keep to show people.

A clever way to utilise page space and also working with the turning of the page to do a sit up. Very simple, hardly any text which isn't needed when the image says it all.

Advertising an open mic night through them holding a microphone is a really simple idea and design but it says so much more than any regular advert could.
