Design Priciples: Type Journal 7 - Book Typography

Whilst looking around WHSmith this book cover stood out to me because I thought the typography fitted in so well with the style of book. Karl Pilkington acts clueless and almost childlike, he is simple and child like in his attitude towards things. This is the perfect type face for that. It is looks hand drawn and coloured in on 'idiot abroad'. The other aspect that plays to the idea of it being child like is how the font isn't on a straight line, it follows and fills the space of his head. The whole title is in capitals yet the first letters of each word is larger which doesn't follow the principle of type by having the cap height as a set level.
