Design Principles: Type Journal 4 - Shop Type

This Block font has had its kerning adjusted so that the letters are close together. There is a very little gap between the letters which makes the type look squished and compact almost like books that have been pushed together in a box. This works well in the context as the Boxpark sign is an entrance to shops that have been created in boxes. It really gives off the idea of being neat and compact whilst still having a heavy impact. The type has equal width around the whole letter so it is all equal, this really plays on the idea of having heavy impact lettering.
