Brief 5 - Message Delivery: Final Designs

              

Below are the final three designs for Brief 5 - Message Delivery. These posters aim to inform and educate people about the idea of nuclear energy. From conducting primary research it became clear that many people were anti-nuclear power without and just reason. Even if the poster don't change peoples minds they will at least open them to the possibility of nuclear power and question why they are so against it.

The colour choice of yellow worked well as it represents new ideas, its bright and shows the concept of energy, it is also the colour used in nuclear power signs. The grey compliments the yellow well as black was too harsh on the eyes and took away from the informative aspect - the poster became more in your face. The size 20x40 was chosen so that it could be a large poster. After looking at other ideas it became obvious that it is easier to read a lot of information if it is in a larger print and not squished close together. 

The quotes aim is to catch your attention and make you think "wow is that all?!?" it really is shocking and makes you question why nuclear is so hated. If there is more time next week the poster will be turned into a full campaign with other quotes to support it.

The cooling tower with steam coming out was the hardest piece to create. Trying to create simple shapes and spread the text appropriately became a challenge but the final out come works. The key words that are important are bolder and larger, the fact that the text is in varying size keeps the readers eye interested as it reads down the page.

The light bulb is a simple image, not over complicated by other stuff and has no need for text  although it would work well with text. The filament of the lightbulb has been removed and replaced with a uranium atom to show the idea of nuclear power providing electricity. You don't need to know what a uranium atom looks like to understand the poster especially in conduction with the other two.
