Brief 5 - Message and Delivery: Rough Ideas on Illustrator

Before the interim crit it seemed like a good idea to prepare a few ideas so that i could get a grasp on lay out and how things would work. Below are the a few of the rough ideas quickly made up.

Initially I wanted to have contradictory facts to show both sides of the argument. From above you can see that the white on yellow definitely works a lot better than the black although the black fits in with the theme of nuclear power logo. There is a lot that needs changing about these posters. Firstly the colour. It has turned out mustard where as it should be a yellow. The size of the image is incorrect as it is not a 2:1 ratio. The font is boring and not at all relevant. Even though there is a lot of errors in this it has been worth doing as it provides a starting point from which it can only get better. I definitely want to work with the quote about the nuclear power being able to be stored under a desk because I think that is shocking and really grabs the readers attention.

This was working in the correct ratio and playing around with the combination poster. The plug sockets are meant to represent each type of energy source such as nuclear, renewable and fossil fuels. The colour, again, needs working on. But the idea of showing the different options and providing information at the bottom would be a good way to get people thinking and question their opinions. However this may not be high impact and could do with tweaking.

The final 3 ideas will have to work in the 2:1 ratio and ideally work all portrait so that they sit well together.
