Brief 5 - Message Delivery: Innitial ideas

Above is the 9 initial ideas all together.

This first one is looking at just image. I wanted to show the idea of how much we need electricity "what would happen if the energy supplies ran out - it would smash"

This may be one of the hardest ideas to create but it was inspired by Terry Border, an artist who puts every day objects  into situations. The idea of the two light bulbs fighting was to show the fight between different types of energy. One thing that could be modified is that one light bulb could be an energy saving one to show the distinction.

 

This is my last image one. The idea was to show how worldwide nuclear power was and how reliant on it we are as a world.

TEXT ONLY

This text only piece was trying to experiment with the idea of having the positives on one alternating triangles to the negative aspects. The nuclear symbol is a famous one and could be easily recognised by text in different colours. If it came down to choosing a side and not making a debate then only one alternative like shown above could be filled in.

This was also a thumbnail taken from research into layering paper/card to form 3d text. You get the thought process from looking at the one above. The layers would be stagnated so that the close to the top then the closer to your eye it is.

This is the idea of having quotes that would catch peoples eye and spark conversation into a debate. The simpler the quotes the better. This may be a better option because you can't bombard people with too much text on one page or else they don't read it.


IMAGE AND TEXT COMBINATION 

This is meant to represent the idea of a clean and neat city, fully powered and full of life. However the reflection in the water shows a decayed city which is run down. The idea is to look at the two sides to the story and try and show both through this image - almost like separate realities.

Here is an idea I will play around with making. The three plug sockets are to represent the three different energy supplies; nuclear, renewable and fossil fuels. Although there is more, they are the main 3 and below is socket there would be information about each type so that people could make up their own mind.

This piece is similar idea to the one created by green peace where the factory is made up out of a drawing. Except this one would be text. It could show how easily it blends into the environment and the text could be filled with postive advantages. This is definitely an idea to develop even if its not in this form.
